I am going to visit Manila next year. What are some fun things to do? I am also gonna meet someone from there, that I've met online. We're just friends. Also how can I get a cheap flight from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii to Manila?

Let me clarify a bit...(because of what jeepney said) ...a lot of times, a foreigner will say Manila because that's the capital but cities are packed tight together in what's called Metro Manila...Try Makati City for dance clubs, bars and restaurants just 30 minutes away from Manila. The City of Manila is ok if you limit yourself to Remedios circle and nearby areas at night...but for more variety, you have to check out Makati and maybe take a day trip to Tagaytay, just 2 hours away.

not sure about the cheap flight thing but with regards to things that you can do, check out www.oldmanilawalks.com as well as the website guppy fish recommended. both offer really fun and educational walking tours of different parts of metro manila. you will like metro manila once you learn THE things that made it how it is today. enjoy!

"What's is it like in Manila?" - Well I've been there alot, and I'd say it's pretty much like if you could combine NYC and LA and all of it's characteristics, and it's all in a third-world nation you get Manila.

Mamila is Dirty, crowded and expensive. The armpit of the Philippines. Cheap and flying to the Philippines do not work. You want cheap ? Fly to Malayasia !

Idk how you can find a cheap flight on how to get there. I would look someplace online if you have a credit card andd it can pay for your flight...but idk other wise...I have never flew on a place before.
But look online. Never been to Manila...never herd of the place.
