I think stopping someone at any time from saying what you feel they shouldn't say is wrong but, do you think that society has any reason to show deference to a person in death at all or should people who disagree with a persons position on issues take this into account.

Everyone is entitled to his /her opinions but to most someone like Steve Irwin was a good man trying to educate people about wildlife. His fellow Australians wanted to honour him in their own way and that's ok too, it's a celebration of his life. You didn't have to agree with his methods, but right now it's probably just more civil not to voice that.

I think what you are trying to say is that people are more appreciated after they die, if so this is the truth with steve irwin but if his death means the environment and nature are gonna come out a winner, at least his death wasnt in vain. will be watching his memorial on big screen tv tomorrow in local shopping centre, if only i was 3 minutes earlier i would have been at the zoo. oh well. rip steve

it seems like total bs to me, if you dont like someone is shouldnt matter if they die or not. why is it okay to dislike someone who is alive and not when they are dead. not like it matters if youre dead its the living person that has feelings that you are possibly hurting.
