If you had God in your heart, you wouldn't feel the need to be scared.

OK Ignorance masks unwanted truths. Perhaps you're keeping yourself in the dark about so many things you can learn about God because you know that if you do find out and gain true knowledge, then you will know, really know what's right and what's wrong. Or maybe you're just fearful of learning and getting close to such a greater being, if you truly believe in him. The idea of God can be overwhelming. Maybe at first, you should just try going to different churches, one a week or more or less depending on what you feel comfortable doing. and just see how it goes and try to find one that you and the religion and the people who go there just click. You don't just throw yourself into it, with somethings, it's best to just take little bites at a time.

Ok, here's the thing. Ok, I was brought up and taught that the closer you are to God the more the Devil works on you. Especially if you're serious about getting closer to God. It makes the Devil angry and more aware of the fact that he's losing the war between him and God. So he puts false thoughts in you mind to make you scared and shy away from God. But don't worry God is always here with us no matter what. All you need to do is pray to God to be with you and help you deal with these fears, and put your faith in him that he will do so. And then everything will be ok. You can also ask your church to pray for you or if your shy like me just ask your preacher to put in a prayer request for you. Don't worry everything will be fine.

One thing you need to know about God is that He already knows everything about you and He loves you unconditionally. What He wants is to have a personal relationship with you. This doesn't require anything more of you than relating just as you are. You'll find that God is the only one in the world who won't let you down. His love is constant. The fear is more likely of getting to know yourself more than it is knowing God. God thinks you're pretty special so it's worth facing your fear. You won't be sorry.

It could be you are scared of your past life, dont be God is forgiving.
It could be your scared that your luck will change for the bad, dont be only good comes from God
It could be you think you will, have less controle, you wont you will still be in controle God guides not dominates
So move closer to God feel the warmth of his love and be comfortable with his nearness.

Some of these people's answers scare me and make me wonder why they even bother to answer something they know nothing about. But its not my place to judge...
I think that maybe you are afraid of believing in something/someone that you know nothing about. If you think about all the great things that God has blessed you with, and helped you through then maybe you will understand that he loves you and doesn't want you to be scared to get close to him. I don't think that God is mad at you b/c you are afraid... God has his reason's for everything, and you are just in your process of learning to have faith.

amber are you afraid that if you go to god he will expect to much of you . all jesus wants you to do is believe in him and take him into your heart . you don't have to go to church to love god just have a place you can go to talk to him . and ask for forgiveness for all your sins and they will be forgiven as they never happened Jesus is someone i can talk to and ask for advice and help when things go wrong every one sins every day just ask to be forgiven and make god your savior so you can get into heaven i'm a born again christian I have said a prayer for god to find you and i hope this has helped you make the choice you don't have to become a radical about it just love him and he will love you he already does the best of luck to in the future dale

I think you should really think about this. Dont have someone try to preach to you, you should decide on your own listen to your words not someone else. God wont hurt you he loves you and is always there for you. Go to him when you are ready he will wait for you.

this can take over your life why let it we dont even know there is a god,stop worrying where you will be when you ar dead and worry more about the life you are trying to live now
