For you people who say that you are getting more back. It is because of tax laws that were implemented back in the 90's under Clinton. The tax breaks that Bush has given out effect people with 200gs or more a year. The reason they pay more money is because they make more. If everyone paid the same percentage rate this country would be in a lot better shape. Trickle down economics does not work. Those supporters who are poor tend to be families who live in areas that are more "redneck" who want less gun regulation and dont like things to change. There are alot of them in the south. Which the only way a country can get better is through progression not by just sitting there with somthing that somewhat works. We were on the right track under Clinton. The national debt was almost gone, there were lots more jobs, this countrys poor to middle class were in much better shape.

It's probably because at least 50% of Americans are really dumb. Well, that's probably not correct. They aren't really stupid, so much as easily misled - sheep if you will - blind mice. Many Americans still equate the Republican Party (GOP) with patriotism, national security, entrepreneurship, Christian values, and conservatism (i.e., the old fashioned American way of life). Unfortunately, they don't realize that Republicans are only interested in helping the rich, large corporations, the military-industrial complex and, of course, each other. They don't give a rat's *** about the poor, the disadvantaged, minorities, the environment, world peace, international law, the nation's reputation abroad, or even the economy at large. Republicans are there to serve the corporate and right-wing special interest groups that profit at the expense of the American taxpayer. In short, they are pigs at the public trough. In the next election, it's time for Americans to cook up some bacon!

I hope you don't mind me answering this question even though I do not support the Republican agenda.
I have a close family member who started out as a Democrat. He struggled through life, trying to scratch his way out of poverty. Along the way he met others, that were in a similar position. He claims that many did not even make an effort to work their way out: choosing instead to rely on the system for assistance. He finally got enough education to bag a job that today pays him about $50,000.00 annually. He is now convinced that anyone can climb out of poverty, without any assistance. In fact, he would like to pull the assistance from the poor, and let the poor "suffer". He suffered and now wants retribution from those who did not even try. He would prefer that the rich take the money than to have some of it passed down to those people. No, this person does not have the highest intelligence, but he does posses determination. He would never tell anyone else this story, but he told me, when I asked him this very same question, you ask today.
What makes his story so sad, is that I know for a fact, that he relied on assistance from our government, in the form of educational grants and public schooling: He Chooses not to remember this fact. I kind of feel sorry for this person, because he now lives a bitter life.
I prefer to pass my assistence to those who show promise, if only they had a little help. I get my best rewards, when I see the glow on a human face, after they have achieved what they thought they could not do.
The rich have more then they know what to do with. What bothers me most about them, is their destructive nature. They seem to be driven by greed and hate and get off on hurting people. Thank god there are so few of them, and so many more of us.

Generally Poor people vote for Republicans after the Democrats have been in office for eight years. During that time the amount of corruption becomes obvious enough so that even they who have no interest in politics can see what's happening.
The Far Left, after two years in office, tend to become the mechanism that the Democrat Party uses to accomplish it's ends. These means and methods can alienate free responsible persons because of the drain on their resources and because the lack of leadership eventually exposes itself.
Often the Democrat Party generalizes things, things that need to be exposed as singular to a particular movement. This is poor leadership and always produces corruption.
The Poor, unfortunately, hope to correct this by voting the Democrats out of power but the damage the Democrats do is so great that 8 years of Republican office is not enough time to straighten out the mess.

Really? I make just under 40k and I am getting more back than ever on my tax returns. Democrats want to raise taxes, I can't afford that. For what? To give more to people that chose not to work?
I DON'T CARE if he taps the phones, and they weren't even listening to your conversations, they were just tracking phones that called areas of the world that harbor terrorist's . SO?
As for your British friends, ask those folks what they pay for gas. Or the French, Germans, Japanese! And no I don't care what the Brits think. I bet you'll find it is like anywhere else. People of like minds tend to hang together. If I go to a social affair for the rich and famous I will find that most there are Democrats. If I go to a BBQ in rural America I'll find that most are Conservative
I like the Patriot Act because my children's safety is more important than any rights you think you've lost. You haven't.
Katrina I will grant was a mess. Part of the Blame goes to Bush and part to the Governor, and the Mayor. Why did it take them two days to send the request for assistance? Get out of school get a real job, and meet the real world

I respectfully recommend you carry out somewhat extra analyze. do you prefer the government to take consistent care of you thru denying you extra and added incentives. once you start to get forward do you prefer your taxes to decide for bureaucratic courses that don't artwork, are grossly wasteful, and help people who refuse to help themselves. Do you get exhilaration from paying the invoice for unlawful immigrants; do you no longer care relating to the drug cartels getting into the country. You, alongside with maximum of incorporate brainwashed w/o getting to understand to make knowledgeable judgements. that's what i can not confirm. i replaced into as quickly as a Democrat yet grew up and discovered extra constructive. FDR has been long previous a protracted time. we now have the Kennedy's, Pelosi's, Reids and Billaries!

typical liberal BS all emotion and no facts. lol If you go to the library of congress and compare who payed what taxes between Bush and Clinton you will see that the rich paid less taxes under Clinton then Bush and the poor paid higher taxes under Clinton then Bush. But I don't want to confuse you with the facts. But carry on you people amuse me sometimes. So Bush had folks listening in on your phone calls? lmao how boring would that be! For your information they look over phone records that have frequent calls to the middle east. Gee maybe it's because he's trying to avert another big terrorist attack? The Katrina mess was mostly a mess because of the liberal governor there and no busses Nagen. I always wondered do you people start hating first thing when you wake up or do you wait till you've had a cup of coffee first? Carry on and remember your montra before you go to bed, you have to chant I HATE BUSH 300 times or you're not a good liberal follower. LMAO and PS I care more about us winning the war on terror then what a bunch of elitist snob European's think of me geeez but I still love you libs!!

Where did you get those stats? The richer have always paid more percentage wise in taxes. In fact, since Bush has been in office, those making under $40,000.00 have only paid 3% on average in taxes. Seems to me like the poor are just as greedy as they claim the rich are. (I only make about $20,000.00)

Most of what you say is a base lie.. What is wrong with America is that we have Democrat Congressmen, like Solomon Ortiz, who are more concerned with Mexican citizens , than US citizens. Propagandists like you will be the demise of our country.
My suggestion to you is to move to England with your boyfriend and don't do any more damage to freedom loving people than you have with this "Question".
