Ok I have a supervisor that is supposed to be in charge but,I find myself having to get my own answers and make discisons that it is up to her to make. I think that this will get me in trouble in the long run. Plus I always end up stepping up to the bat for our team. How can I stop this or general advice please. thanks

forgive me- I always handled my office politics passive aggressively with an appropriate Dilbert cartoon photographed and taped onto the bathroom doors or coke machines.

Do you consider this woman to be a friend? If so, have a quiet word with her and tell her what you feel. Do you want her job? If so, keep a note of what you are doing that you feel is her responsibility. Verify your feelings with a couple of colleagues, but do not b*tch about it. Approach another superior and level with them about what you are doing, your concerns that you may be over your head a bit but that you are confident you can handle it given the correct status. If you do not want her job, stop doing it and approach someone with your concerns. I would get someone else on board with you as well.

Why don't you put all the responsibilities you have taken on on your resume, and look for a job where you will be the supervisor and get paid for it?
