The Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB) fall back to earth and deploy parachutes and splash down somewhere in the ocean. They are then retrieved and brought back to the factory for reuse. The NASA website has really cool video of an SRB's journey from release to retrieval.

they get burnt due to friction with air
even if they do reach the earths surfae ,they are deployed in a manner that they fall int oceans
