me and my ex fiance were together for 4 and a half years we just recently split but he says he still wants to be friends so i talk to him occasionally, but hes been talking to some girl and he tells me everything he does with her and it just hurts me to hear thati am still in love with him why is he doing this??

He just wants to keep you around in case nothing better comes along. He is stringing you along. He feeds off of your friendship, it enlarges his ego. I bet you any money that if you told him you weren't comfortable being friends with him anymore he would come crawling back (if you want that). If you stop talking to him, he will lose the "power" he thinks he has over you, and it will drive him crazy.
Honestly, I think you deserve better. Any real friend would never expose you to things that would hurt you, and any normal, compassinate, human being would know that disclosing information about a new love interest, to an old one, is very hurtful.

he may be unaware of it, tell him you cant be his friend because you still love him and it only brings you pain, he should understand. protect your self i know how hard it is to see that one person you still love and they look past you every time but life goes on and even though your torn apart you must prove to hI'm and your self that you can move on im sorry that your going Thur this but quiting is not an option if god puts us up against it then he will pull us Thur it,

I think you should let him know that you still have feelings for him and that you want to be with him. Let him know you want to be friends ya know hang out talk about other things friends and family but not about him and other women.

He appears to enjoy kicking you while you're down. Otherwise, he wouldn't talk about these things with you so much. Figures he only wants to hurt you--not be your friend.

you know why? because he's a big JERK! he wants to make you jealous, and wants to see how you will react to his stories. your lucky he already broke up with you. can you imagine what stories about you he has been telling the other girls? do you still want to be with a guy like that?
