We become worm food (if buried) or ashes (if cremated). That is that. In both cases, we are recycled back into nature.

Person never goes back. The almighty is the source of energy. This energy can be in two forms, mass and energy. Soul is energy which is the part of supreme God. Soul takes the shape of mass and behaves like living being. Later this mass again converted to energy and goes back to the supreme source of energy.

This is what is told by Einstein also. Mass and energy are same thing but of different forms. So E=Mc^2. Here E Energy is converted to M Mass after a wastage of c^2 energy due to conversion. Thus souls takes the shape of human form and lives in earth. When dies, it transforms again to soul.

Death is just a transformation of form of Energy, not an end.

Our destination is as individual as our present life. Each person is given the situation and body that each desired and deserve according to the activities of their present life. "As you sow so shall you reap". It's a very common sense thing. Nature under the direction of the Lord gives us what we work for and desire in this life.

What we call death is just another transformation of the material energy. The body we inhabit ceases to function and we leave it. In fact, the body is continually dying at every moment. Cells are continually replacing other cells in a constant stream of transformation. And every 7 years the whole body has undergone a complete transformation. But we witness these changes and we do not change. Our identity does not change. This is life beyond death. Death is in front of us, visible to our eyes, but we are beyond that, simply witnessing it. We do not die, we leave this body when its time is up and go on to another situation and another body according to our karma (actions and desires).

This is very clearly explained in the second chapter of the Bhagavad-gita, which you can read on-line at the link below.

Preeti,
A very important link in our existance is "faith or belief"..

And based on that my reply is....

We, as on today with the scientific tools available and with the mental ability we ordinary human beings possess, cannot pinpoint the destination.

But now for me my belief is that we do have an ethereal world after death... death is just a transformation of stage in our LIFE concerning our souls...
I or the 'being' is 'SOUL' and not this physical body with the identification of Preeti or ShivMenon.

So Soul iterates itself many times till it gets the 'Moksha' or "salvation'...

Till the Soul gets 'Moksha', the soul too has desires, feelings but no physical pains. It has all these feelings mentally.

It takes rebirths till the Soul is 'stabilised' and it gets dissolved in the ether....

When a person dies the soul in his body is released and according to Hindu mythology the soul goes to rest if his deeds are good on the hole cycle of eighty lakh births(jounia) but if the total out put is in negative, the soul has to take birth again to repeat the cycle after staying in heaven/hell accordingly to his deeds.

According to the Holy Bible, when you die, your spirit separates from the physical body. Your spirit goes to Paradise in the Spirit World, where it will wait until we have the ressurection of Jesus the Christ and all righteous people will be reunited with their families.

The folks who made choices to disobey Our Heavenly Father by harming innocents (pedophilia ect), (abortion ect.) murder of innocents, adultry ect . and those who chose to deny the Holy Ghost, well there is a place of eternal darkness and then death to their spirit.

How glorious and just our Heavenly Father's Plan is to all of his children!

This is a simplistic explanation and I hope it helps, for more depth go to the link below..

Best of luck in your search of "Everlasting Life"

Fondly and God Bless,
The Diva, Darling!

The bible says to be absent from the body is to be presen with the LORD. It also says that if you live in Christ, you go home to be with Christ. If you don't you go to hell.

If you read Luke 16 it tells the story of Lazarus and the rich man. Not Lazarus that Jesus raised from the dead that was His cousin.

This Lazarus was a poor man and the rich man was eating a feast and wouldn't share with him. The dog would lick his sores and when they both died (Lazarus and the rich man) the rich man went to hell and Lazarus went to Abrahams bosom to be comforted.

If I tell you all of it you won't read it for yourself. It's a great story of what happened. Try reading the NIV version of the Holy Bible and there are other versions as well. They all say the same thing jsjust some are in lay mans terms for easier understanding.

This clearly defines the two places and that we still have all our senses after we die.

NIV
2 Corinthians 5
Our Heavenly Dwelling
1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,

3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.

4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

5 Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.

7 We live by faith, not by sight.

8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due to him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

Hebrews 9:27

Jesus said it is but once to die and then the judgement. If you live in Christ you die in Christ and go home to be with Him and await the Judgement Seat of Christ where you will get all your rewards. Crowns that you will throw to His feet. But if you didn't live in Christ there is only one other place to go.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. If you live in Christ. If not you will be like the rich man who had all his nice things while he was alive and then begging for a drop of water to cool his tongue after he died.

KJV
8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Well, I don`t believe in Hell cause I think Earth is our hell...
I don`t know where we go after we die because that this the final mystery. I do hope I go somewhere where I can be with those I loved during my earthly life and those that I didn`t even get to meet.
Most of all, I hope God (or Buda or Allah or whatever name you choose to give) allows me to be with my husband for all eternity because he is the dearest of my dearest ones!

Depending on their deeds(karmas) , their soul either goes to heaven, hell or takes up some other lower species birth or achieve salvation! The body is disposed off in any manner-burying or burning!
