Is pride really that important to some people? Or would you take the better road, and try to end the arguements as soon as possible, and admit your mistake. If we learn anything from the war in Iraq, I hope we learn never to elect a president who lets his pride get in the way.

If you find out that you are wrong and have been argueing with misinformation then the only thing to do is to admit it and apologise. I may be hot tempered, but always admit when I am wrong. An apology doesnt always make it right, but it doesnt hurt either and it makes you a better person for being able to admit fault. Mind you if I know I am right, no way am I backing down!

Nope. I don't continue arguments after it's clear to me that I'm wrong. If you ever find out you're wrong, the intelligent - and honorable - course is to admit it immediately. Moreover, people respect you a lot more if you do that.

I also believe in Heinlein's saying, from the notebooks of Lazarus Long: "In a family argument, if it turns out you are right -- apologize at once!"

Don't be fool and carry on the argument, if you're wrong, you're wrong so say sorry and move on, (I should be a poet) learn from some presidents mistakes, cause you are only going to make yourself look even worse if you continue to fight.
