You can do what I did, move to a city where a majority of the residents have college degrees or higher. You still have to deal with the peasants but at least you could scuttle back to your den of knowledge, safe and sound.

You probably make this trait pretty obvious to others. People don't usually get jealous of intelligence. They get annoyed when people flaunt intelligence. There is nothing more obnoxious than an academic snob. And nobody is impressed when people go out of their way to use big words. Make an effort to connect with people. Show an interest in their lives, even if they're not as smart as you. You might find out that the class pot head scored higher than you on the SAT. Focus on relationships not your superior intellect and your intelligence will shine through, rather than turn people off. Humbleness is sexy.

Keep your intelligence to yourself. Nobody is going to benefit from it or lose anything either. Its your own concept that people are jealous of your intelligence. Some maybe, but most will not give it a damn. So, just relax and make good use of the gift God has bestowed upon you.

Did they tell you they were jealous? Have you analyzed the root of their jealousy? Most people who are intelligent are particularly intelligent in one area and complete imbeciles in another area. Focus on what you are an imbecile about and talk to your friends about that. They will love you for it.

As long as you are not bragging and showing off how intelligent you are, its not your fault.
Maybe its time to start hanging around people who are on the same ''wavelength'' as you.
