yes, 1982 in Spain. They had Brazil, USSR, and Scotland in their group.
They lost 5-2 to Scotland, 3-0 to USSR and 4-0 to Brazil, to finish last in their group.

NEW ZEALAND have qualified only once in the FIFA World Cup finals. they appeared in 1982 finals but they failed to qualify to the round of 16. they lost all their group matches scoring 2 goals & conceded 12 goals in the process.

no, They never qualiffied to WC. They event never quallified to the play off !. but they got the opurtonitty to go to play off after Australia goes into AFC
