YES - it is.

omg i had the biggest problem with nailbiting forever. I tried everyyytthinggg...

- putting a ruberband on my wrist and snapping myself everytime i bit
- chili nailpolish
- "not thinking about it" ha.

really, the only thing that worked is Sally Hansen's Nutra Nail Polish. It coats your nails in this ridiculously hard layer of polish, which makes it impossible to bite.

I found it at Walgreens (and walmart) for about $8. It comes in a small box, with the picture of a soda can being opened on it. I think it's red + white.

Yes! Up until I was 13 I would bite my nails to the core... and suddenly... I just stopped. Now my nails are so extremely long that I hurt people all the time by accident, lol.

You need to find another intervention to keep you busy when you're nervous or bored. Like tapping your foot or twirling your rings. You could also put a rubber band around your wrist and whenever you have the urge to bite your nails, snap it. Or try chewing lots of gum!

Good luck, and try out the nasty flavored polish.

Take a piece of finger nail, bitten off, place it under a microscope and you will stop.
The bugs that live there will gross you out.
You can also try a special nail polish that is made to taste terrible just for that reason. I don't know the name of it but you can ask at the pharmacy.
Good luck!

I used to bite my nails when i was 12. Then, I noticed that I never bit them when i had nail polish on because I didn't' want to wreck it.
So I kept them polished. the habit was gone by the end of the summer.

yes, it is possible. Try to be aware of your actions, and catch yourself. Then do something with your hands or mouth. keep sugar free gum on you or keep a pen in your hand, these small things will help you break the habit forever...
