typically it will show up on your account the day you are to be paid, but usually depends on your bank and how and when they process, you won't be able to access it until it's processed even though it shows in your account.
Ask your bank what time they process and when you will be able to access your funds.

Who ever your direct deposit is coming from tells the bank what day to credit your account, it has to be at the bank a couple of days before that. If the pay date comes on a Saturday or Sunday you usually get your money the business day before that . Most banks are really good about that. I used to work for one of the biggest banks in the US. They process at midnight, but the funds are not available to access till after 6:00am

not instantly. it will be posted on the pay day, but the time of the day is depending on the financial institution you deal with. Many times a company send out the pay one day before the pay day, but it can be posted to your account in the morning or in the afternoon. it depends. you may want to check with your bank.
