I had a natural birth with my first. I went into labor about 10pm and had her the next morning about 8am. It was hard but never at any point nothing I couldn't handle. My biggest problem is I can't imagine how you can push a baby out of you if you can't feel anything. I think it's known that a woman without an epidural can push better and faster than a woman with an epidural. I'm praying this time goes well too. I think it depends on the birth. Every time with every woman is different. I hope you have the labor you want. You can do it. I know many women who have done it. It's not exactly a day at the beach but as long as you keep in your mind that your doing this for you and your baby. If you do end up getting one it will only be for your and the baby's safety.

You are almost there. I know how uncomfortable you feel. I dont think you should force it. The safe way would be not doing anything strenious but maybe a little fun in the bedroom if you know what I mean sometimes helps Im told.
Ive also heard that rasperry tea sometimes brings it on but Im not so sure about that.
Move around as much as you can tolerate without lifting heavy things etc, that could be dangerous.
Wishing you a healthy baby!

Actually walking will help induce your labor. But like they say, it'll happen when he/she is ready for it to happen. If it's your first relax, they're usually late anyways. Being on your feet should get things moving in that direction. Keep your mind off things, make notes of everything your feeling and going through in a journal or something-this is one of those moments you'll always look back on and talk about.

you can try sex because sperm has a natural chemical that thins the cervix, organic raspberry tea primes the uterus, walking and just wait. Don't try Castor oil cause it can cause the baby to poop in the uterus which is really bad, don't try black or blue cohosh because black hasn't been test for pregnant woman and is NOT approved by the FDA, and blue can cause birth defects. Labor balm doesn't work, enemas don't work trust me I have tried them all my due date is in 2 days and i am ready too. Try a prenatal massage usually about 35 dollars they can hit pressure point that can put you into labor.

If you are anything like I was at almost 40 weeks, sex was the last thing on my mind!!! My suggestion to you is to go shopping! Yes, shopping! I decided that I needed winter clothes for my five year old and spent approx 4 hours walking in the shopping centres. My baby came about 5 hours later.

Girl, I have been there! I was asking everybody I know if there was any way to make me go into labor. I was ready to have my son NOW!
The truth is that most of the old wives tales do not work. If you walk or have sex or drink castor oil.... and it "works" it's probably because you were about to have the baby anyway. I asked my doctor about the one about having sex & he said you'd have to have sex like 25 times in a day to get enough of the prostagland (?) that's in sperm to make you go in labor.
I know it's tough, but just hang in there. Trust me, your little bundle of joy will be worth the wait.

Have sex my doctor told me it helps sometimes. Walking up and down stairs may help, it was one of the things I tried when I was 2 weeks over due with my second child. Do not try castrol oil (not the car oil either) its an oil that you can buy in stores that does not help all it does is make you sick. Trust me on that one I tried it cause my mother told me it would work. Boy was she wrong. I hope all goes well for you and good luck with the birth of your child.

Seriously: the best way to bring in labor is to walk! I know you say you get tired.. bu tit DOES help! I had two very easy labors because of it! Also, having sex (well orgasaming) is known to help release hormones known for triggering labor. Good luck with your labor and delivery!

Walking is the best but if your body isn't ready then it's not going to happen no matter what you do.
But you can relieve your symptoms, drink more milk to relief your leg cramps and sit with your legs propped up as much as you can to relieve the pressure. Drink lots of water to reduce swelling.
Good Luck

You have to wait, unless your doctor is willing to induce labor safely in the hospital. Anything else is a bad idea.
