but seeing performance of yougsters like yuvraj, kaif, mongia, raina, dhoni and irfan it seems that to beat big teams in foreign soil we should have standard player like gauguly! he is far better than these players, he could be good asset as all rounder also!!
apart Tendulkar and Dravid we can only trust Shewag others are fluke players and they can never perform against good teams

international standard player like Gauguly should not be measured by his performance in county and local games, he has not a debutant, he has vast experience and can comeback anytime

players who perform heaviy in county games like Hick, and in ranji like jaffer have not succeded in international level

Sourav Ganguly is one of the greatest player in India.
But his present form is not good, i think he'll not get the place in the indian team.

Don't compare sourav ganguly to anyone. Because his enter the indian team in 1996. In 2005 he crossed the lanmark of 10000 runs. Within the short period of 9 years. Dravid and Tendulkar not did this.

um.. honestly that depends.
I thought Ganguly should be given a chance atleast one chance to prove himself. But eh who will you throw out?
It will be unfair to the up and coming players who are just finding their feet to throw them out just 'cos Ganguly might play better.

I think the selectors are looking at the future where we need yound players 'cos the already established playes like Sachin and Dravid and Kumble and all those people who perfom on a consistent basis are about to go. So we do need some young talent.. The next tendulkar oe kumble or dravid.. just like the Australian team is doing.. they are harnessing new talent and there is no time for a hit o miss old timer in their midst.

I think Ganguly is or was a good player apart from a few weaknesses.... but i am also not sure if he will be able to make an impact if he gets in the team now.

And Sehwag plays that way no matter what 'cos thats his style.. the others i tend to agree with you.. though i think they need to be given more chances to establish themselves.

Every player has a bad patch in his life ...and ganguly;s bad patch had gone too far ... he was nt batting at all ... bt now if hes doin welll theres no point nt to select him ... bt the question arises is he doin dat gud .....

About Yuvraj hes one of the best player recently having won 2 man of the series awards back to back .....

mongia is out , kaif keeps comin in and out and dat actually affects a players game a lot ....

bt i guess its really nt upto us to decide ... there r selectors who r far better ... they mite be takin a players side ...bt still they know the game better ...

he should n he must...but unfortunately he wont...as long as kiran more and greg chappell r there...ganguly is better than any indian batsman after sacin....and no doubt h was th best indian captain...dravid is not a good captain when compared to saurav...a great player 2b dealt in such a way is such a shame and it hurts every crkt lover...

He didn't score runs in England (county) and hes not scoring runs at domestic level in India (Ranji trophy),so on what basis do you want him to make a comeback.(Bats like a club cricketer.)
