I am 38 weeks pregnant and my baby gets the hiccups anywhere from 4-8 times a day! I know it has to be frustrating for him cause it irritates me almost as bad a when I have them myself! the constant bouncing is quite irritating... anyone ever experienced this? is there anything I can do to relieve them?

My daughter had the hiccups quite frequently when I was pregnant too. There is nothing you can do to stop it. But the doctor did tell me that it doesn't bother them in the least beat. Enjoy it....I miss so much feeling my baby in my tummy!

I'm 31 weeks and my baby gets the hiccups about as much but I don't think quite as much as 8 times.

Just be glad your almost done...LoL

I don't know that there is anything that can be done and for some reason I can't see other's answers until after I send an answer so I have no idea what anyone else has said yet.

They do get annoying, I don't get the bouncing but more like a strong pulsating feeling, could just be the position she is in.

Good Luck!

My son is almost 3 months old. When I was pregnant it seemed like he would hiccup for days. It would worry me a lot....and annoy me. Then he came out and he was pretty much still hiccuping..lol. This kid gets the hiccups like you would not believe. And for some odd reason, for the first time in my life, I get hiccups like a million times a week. I don't know why. Hopefully, this doesn't happen to you.

i am 39 weeks and 5 days and my son gets the hiccups all the time too. He usually has them for about 3-5 minutes. I don't know how to stop them but I have noticed it is usually after I drink something fast I think it's cause I swallow too much air. Try drinking slower.

my daughter had them throughout my pregnancy.
Doctor told me its cuz baby swallows the amniotic fluid and gets hiccups. Its not weird and its not bad.
Sorry....no known cure in my experience. baby may even have them after she is born so be ready for a bouncing baby! :-)

No honey, sadly there is nothing you can do but try and be amused by it. I know my last baby seemed to have them all the time and I know it can be frustrating. But this too shall pass and before you know it, the baby will be here and you will have your body back - well, for the most part. Unless you are breast feeding. LOL - then it will be awhile.

Don't make him laugh so much! Try keep him serious most of the time and you'll be amazed at how seldom he gets them.

no, nothing you can do but be patient. Just wait till you hear them LIVE..its loud and funny!
I know its annoying for you but it wont last forever, try to move around when it happens so you wont feel it so much.

i dont think you can prevent them in any way, the baby gets them from swallowing the amniotic fluid the the sac.
