Because health care in the US is about making money and not about helping people.

Actually it doesn't... companies charge more here in the US because there are no laws saying they can't. You look at countries that have open health care and their citizens are just as healthy but they don't have to pay anything close to what we pay. That's also the same reason that drug companies make so much money here. They don't look to "cure" anything because there is no money in a cure. If you get someone to believe that what they have is worse than it actually is..they'll take drugs for the rest of their lives.

Where do you live and what do you pay? Here in Alberta Canada, I pay 132.00 every three months for Alberta Health care and I have Blue Cross which is 60.00 a month, it covers dental and alot of other things. It's worth it to me. I pay alot not to use it, but there will come a day where I will need it. But even if I could not afford it, I would still never be denied medical treatment.

Health care costs so much here in the States because we have no limits on what someone in the medical or pharmaceutical profession can charge for their services. Since doctors and drug companies are the only ones who can provide their types of services, they can charge whatever they want.
