I'm an AZ resident. IMHO, Senator McCain is his own man -- he tries to do the right things for the right reasons. Having been a POW, he understands things on a different level than your average politician. He seems to care deeply for people, is not afraid of hard work, nor of going against popular opinion if it is for the greater good. He does sometimes seem a little hot-tempered but I think that is because he does care.

I think he would make a good president. I don't think he can win in 2008 because people judge him harshly for not being more politically motivated/results oriented. (Results in DC often being directly related to trading favors...)

I would vote for him. No doubt the Republican party will try to produce a more mainstream, vanilla candidate, though.

He'd make a fine President. Has he made an announcement to run in 2008 yet? I haven't heard.

I don't like John McCain. First he calls "Christo-Fascists" the axis of intolerance and now five years later he is kissing their butts.

I liked him when he was running against Bush in 2000. I would have voted for him. I would have to hear how he stands on the issues now. His winning would depend on who he democratic candiate is.
