and the feelings or lack thereof are mutual...I take love very seriously and refuse to sign I love you or love to cards to people who I care barely tolerate...seems hypocritical...I do sign it though with warm regards, best wishes always...

I think that you are doing the right thing. There is no reason to be fake, even on a card. I'm sure that they wouldn't appreciate "love" when they know you don't feel that way, and neither do they.

Warm regards and best wishes are fine if the card is from you only. However, if the card is from you and your husband, then sign love, but put his name first. It's his family and he loves them. I know it is very hard. I was in the same boat.

Well I think I have probably wrote it more than once when I was less than feeling that way. However, for your situation I would just with another ending. Repeat the occasion before... if it is like Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversery. Usually there is an occasion to fall back on. I think it is just fine the way you are doing it.

No it's not wrong! It's fine to sign it with "With warm regards" or "best wishes", "Good luck" and such. I can' stand my brother so I never sign "Love" or "Love always" on his cards. LOL Likewise I can't stand my sisters man and I don't even get him a card and he knows I can't stand him. If you don't love them you don't have to sign it like that if it makes you uncomfortable.

I despise getting a card from one of my distant relatives, or from someone in my Husband's family signed "With Love", or "Much Love", not to mention "Love Always"!! That's the Kicker!!!!
I think it's more important to be true to yourself, and to hell with what's proper!!

I'm sure you have good reason for doing this and although you are using proper etiquette by signing as you do, you also have to keep in mind that these are your spouse's parents and siblings. I'm sure your spouse loves them and you need to take that into consideration.

It is not wrong, and there's nothing wrong with signing it as you're doing. You're showing plenty of respect and honor by wishing them well.
