drivers for usb?

I want to learn how to write drivers, where would I start? (also How can I open driver files. (windows xp.)

you can start by searching some related article on google, or you can find a book of course. most of drivers using the C programming, so it 'll be good if you are an expert in C. you can't open any driver files because it's already compiled...
