Someone wants to trade theire Carnell "Cadillac" Williams for my Clinton Portis. What should I do Accept or deny. I have Steven Jackson, Reuben Droughns, Dominick Rhodes, and Thomas Jones as my backups. Or should I try to counter offer something like C.Portis and R.Moss for C.Williams and D.Stalworth? would he accept?

I wouldn't accept the trade because even though Clinton Portis has shown that he can play with an injury, but Cadillac Williams has not been able to perform with his back spasms and has yet to do good. There is no time table for him to be 100% again, so I would say no go on the trade.

Stick with portis. Cadillac was due for a down year and is struggling with back spasms right now. clinton Portis will be in the lineup this week vs the texans and should be good for 80 yards or so and probably a score.

In the end Portis is a better option.

I'd hang on to Portis, he should be fine once he starts playing, especially this weekend against the Texans. I've got Cadillac , and he hasn't done anything so far. I also have Moss and I think it would be a good idea to try and get rid of him, but not by giving up Portis, Oakland looks like they are going to be in for a long year.

I would stick with Portis. He should be healthy next week and he has proven to be a reliable fantasy back every year. Cadillac had a good year last year but has done nothing this year and by the looks of the way Tampa is playing, they will be down alot and forced to abondon the run early in games.

I would keep Portis. He is a top 5 back when healthy and Cadillac hasn't shown anything this year. Portis will be back and you will regret trading him when he returns. You have enough depth at RB to hold out for now.

Definitely keep Portis, this person trying to trade is desperate for a RB, that is almost similar to a trade that I had offered before the season started.....this person wanted to trade me Favre and Ron Dayne for Carson Palmer and Brian Westbrook, I laughed when I saw that trade, Dayne at the time had already been dropped to 3rd string on the Broncos, now have Favre via free agency in my league because they dropped him along with Palmer and Westbrook on my team. What I'm trying to get at, after possibly 2 more bad games, they may drop Williams, and eventually TB should somewhere down the road this season, should get a running game going (if they would get rid of Chris Simms at QB.)

i like that suggestion to combine portis and moss for cadillac and stalworth. i frankly don't think he'll take it since the moss stock is dropping and the stalwoth stock is way up.

but go for it, if he accepts your are making out.

as for the 1 on 1 trade, i don't think i would do it. portis once he plays again will be a better back than cadillac and will be one of your week to week starters. whether or not you start cadillac will depend on the matchup.

portis for williams is a good trade, with simms struggling, tb will rely more on the running game; plus portis has a lame shoulder and defenders will be going after that shoulder. I would take that deal fast.

With the RBs you already have, this trade is pointless. It will do absolutely nothing to improve your team. If the person your trading with is weak at RB, you could try to counter with Portis for a WR or a TE, but don't expect a superstar for him.

i wouldnt trade cuz Tampa Bay is playin worse than the Redskins, Portis is having some shoulder problems, so if you find out that it is worse than it looks then you might look into it. joe gibbs is known for being old school and running the ball, so when portis is healthy his numbers will go up.
