1/5 n + 8 = -3/5 (n - 15)

multiply with 5 to get rid of fractions:
n + 40 = -3 (n - 15)

expand:
n + 40 = -3 n + 45

subtract 40, add 3 n:
4 n = 5

divide:
n = 5/4.

Multiply the enclosed at the right side fo the equation:
1/5n + 8 = -3/5n + 45/5 ---> 1/5n + 8 = -3/5n + 9
Do the transposition method the - sign becomes + and vice versa:
1/5n + 3/5n = 9 - 8
Compute each side:
4/5n = 1
Again do the transposition method:
n = 1 (5/4)
Answer:
n = 5/4

1/5n + 8 = -3/5(n - 15)
1/5n + 8 = -3/5n + 45/5
1/5n + 3/5n = 9 - 8 **when shift side, "-ve" to "+ve" and vice-versa.
4/5n = 1
n = 1 x 5/4
n = 5/4

to check
1/5n + 8 = -3/5(n - 15)
1/5(5/4) + 8 = -3/5(5/4 - 15)
5/20 + 8 = -15/20 + 45/5
1/5 + 8 = -15/20 + 180/20 **to equal the base, 45x4 =180, 5x4 =20
8 1/5 = 165/20
8 1/5 = 8 1/5

The answer is that n = 1.25

Here are the steps:
1/5 n + 8= -3/5 (n-15)
1/5 n + 8= -3/5 n + 9
1/5 n + 3/5 n= 1
4/5 n =1
n= 5/4

I hope it is 1/5n + 8 = -3/5(n-15)

Multiplying both sides by 5

5 / 5n + 40 = -3(n-15)

1/n + 40 = -3n + 45

1/n + 3n = 45 - 40

1/n + 3n = 5

Again by taking the LCM

(3n^2+1) / n = 5

3n^2 + 1 = 5n

3n^2 - 5n + 1 = 0

(1/5)n + 8 = (-3/5)(n - 15)

multiply everything by 5

n + 40 = -3(n - 15)

n + 40 = -3n + 45

4n = 5

n = (5/4)

My math isn't great but i'll try:
1/5 n + 8 = -3/5(n-15)
-5/3(1/5 n + 8) = n - 15
-5/15 n - n = 40/3 - 15
5/15 n + n = 15 - 40/3
20/15 n = 5/3
n = (5/3)(15/20) = ~1.25

first open the brackets on right side that gives
1/5n+8=-3/5n+9
we r getting the above step as we opened the brackets by multiplying -3/5 with n and -15.
we got -3/5n as -3/5*n is -3/5n
and we got +9 as -3/5*-15 is +9 [remember - * - = +]
now as we r done with opening the brackets,bring the n terms on left side and numbers on right side.
so it follows as...
1/5n+3/5n=9-8
the LCM on left side is 5 so its written as
4n/5=1
n=5/4
=1.25

The problem is a bit ambiguous, it's unclear what's in the numerators and what's in the denominators. I'm interpreting the problem as (1/5)*n + 8 = (-3/5)*(n-15).

The first thing I'd do is multiply both sides by 5, to clear out the annoying fractions.
n+40 = -3(n-15)

Then multiply out the parentheses...
n+40 = -3n +45

Then move the n's to the left side and numbers to the right...
4n = 5

Then divide by four...
n = 5/4

That wasn't too bad, was it? :-)

1/5n + 8 = -3/5n - (3/5 * -15)
1/5n + 8 = -3/5n + 9
1/5n + 3/5n = 9 - 8
4/5n = 1
n = 1 * 5/4
so.. n = 5/4
