In 1941 the Brooklyn Dodgers lost the series in five games to the Yankees. Brooklyn again lost to the Yankees in 1947. Yankees over the Dodgers in five games in 1949. The Yankees in six over the New York Giants in 1951. In 1952 the Yankees won their fourth straight title by defeating the Brooklyn Dodgers, then again in 1953. In 1955 the Dodgers finally beat the Yankees in seven games. In 1956 the Yankees beat the Dodgers.
