what is it? what are the methods to cure the factions? and the ways to remove the causes? etc.

In an open society people will pursue causes which benefit their self interest. The alternative is to take away those rights. So we get PACs, Unions, Lobbyists.

In Federalist 10 Madison saw that factions were innate, and sown in the nature of man. A republican form of government would check the worst impulses of factions. It gives decison making to a wide group of people.
