Yes. People stealing from the company means that the company basically lost money on the item stolen, which means less profit for the company, which means less chances of me to get a pay increase (or at least lower than it would be). Plus I'm high on integrity. What if your boss already knows the item is stolen and is investigating the issue. So far, we know that you and the thief were around the same spot. What if your boss does and suspects you as the thief?

it depends what and could it affect the rest of you ,as in will you or others get the blame ,and how much trouble this may cause if you are known to be the reporter ,will it affect your life in the work force, and will you end up being pushed out because this person has friends there too who might not like the idear that you reported a mate of theirs ,,i would think about this carefull,or report it on the quiet, say leave a note for the manager to watch this person ,

Yes. There's a chance that your employer can't pay as much because his profit is not very high. If you report the stealing and the employee is fired, you may get a pay raise. My dad caught an employee stealing, and a week after he fired her, he raised everyone's pay by 10%.

Sure if there was a reward system, I'll be the company snitch. it's anonymous anyway so who cares? No one has to know that I told and I get something for it. You shouldn't be stealing from the company anyway.

I would report it if, after giving him/her an ultimatim to report it himself/herself, he/she did not. If you do not report such things, you run the risk of it being blamed on you, and you could lose your job over someone else's theft.

Never.

It's called the low wage compensation program.

As Homer Simpson put it, "Another day, another box of stolen pens."
