I know someone who swears that prenatal vitamins make her hair thicker & longer. She has never been pregnant! Is this safe?

Your friend is right. They are great and helpful and in NO way harmful. Plus if she does get pregnant she won't have to worry about spina bifita and several other birth defects. Good for her.

Im pregnant and have been told that prenatal vitamins are really only best for pregnant women OR women trying to get pregnant. Ive been taking a supplement now for about 2 months and honestly i havent noticed any difference with my hair. The only thing they have helped so far is my gums seeing they bleed a fair bit because of all the hormones raging through my body. They now dont bleed.

They wont harm her, but she doesnt need them. If she found a supplement that suited her current lifestyle situation and her age it would be far better for her health. Remember too and tell her this, some pregnancy supplements have double or triple the daily dosage that a normal woman without pregnancy needs. Too much calcium in the body can cause calcite plaque in the body and she needs to be careful.

Hello =)

Prenatal vitamins are good for any adult, even men. They are just like any other vitamin you take, only with extra nutrients for pregnant women. I am not pregnant right now, but Im trying to become pregnant. My doctor said for optimum health, to take my prenatals NOW before I become pregnant. And yes, they do make your hair grow faster and they make your nails grow faster too. Hope that helps. =)

Yes prenatal vitamins are safe even if you are not pregnant. They are actually a good idea if you are in your child-bearing years...to keep your body healthy, just in case.

the vitamins can be very good for you.they can also get your body ready for having a baby. vitamins are good for you as long as you don't over do it like 3 or 4 in one day.

Vitamins are vitamins. They can't hurt you. Your system eliminates any that your body doesn't need.
