No other guitarist changed ALL forms of music when he arrived on the scene like Jimi Hendrix did. Rock, blues, jazz, funk, R&B were never same after Jimi debuted at Monterey.

I have to say that David Gilmour of pink floyd cannot be left out of the picture. His solos on The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon are extremely noteworthy. Theres also Tom Morello of rage against the machine who took sound to a whole new level with his signature solo style. Good luck on this one!!!!! hard choice

Props to Hendrix, left handed guitar f*in' genius, but Frampton came alive and nobody even mentioned Yngwie Malmsteen.

Van Halen or Slash. Van Halen was an innovator and Slash just kicked some hardcore butt.
