Because the owners of the companies dont invest that extra money into their companies. They line their pockets with it. If you want to truly stimulate the economy then you need to give tax breaks to the lower-middle class. They are the people that are going to spend money to make their lives better. Then the economy will trickle up because with the more money going into the companys they will hire more people.

First of all, the Trickle down theory is based on a Supply side model. The supply side model is that if it is built, someone will want it, and purchase it. You might remember in "Field of Dreams" the catch phrase "If you build it, they will come." That is the idea. If you are old enough, you might remember the George Carlin line, "Glue two things together that no one has ever glued together before, and some smuck will buy it." That is also "Trickle down."
Now there is another part of the equation: Trickle down is a euphemism for "peed on" which is actually a mistranslation for "peon;" and peon, as you know, is the Mexican term for the Mexican peasant. So way back in the Reagan era they told us that they wanted a Peon Economy. To understand these thing you just have to look at the words.

Trickle down economics does not have anything to do with the reduction of manufacturing jobs. Trickle down economics basically states that if the government takes less money in taxes from those who create industry the money that they save in taxes will be used to create new industry and produce jobs and increase the tax base from the bottom up.
This is a working plan and Tax Revenue does go up whenever it is re implemented!!!
Manufacturing jobs going overseas has more to do with open trade and I actually do not believe that it is necessarily a bad thing to see the jobs go overseas because with free trade a company would have to pay very low wages in order to remain competitive. You may not think it is fair but people would rather pay $20.00 for a pair of jeans made in China than pay $100.00 for a pair made in the US they may say something different when asked but they vote with their dollars overwhelmingly.

It cant work today. There was a time when the richest people did give generously to organizations to help the less fortunate. They felt it was their duty actually. Today however this wont work because we have become a very selfish self centered society. Instead of feeling any compassion, the feel contempt. Its all about how much money they have and how to show it off. The people do not have the character of the past. They leave societies fate to others. As long as it doesn't effect them or there's, it doesn't exist. I will say that there are a few exceptions to that but very few considering the wealth of this nation and the number of wealthy here. They should be ashamed of themselves. I have learned the hard way that money only makes your life more miserable and numb. It gives you a sense of false security and instead of having a normal life, you're worried about your money instead. I am poor compared to where Ive been but feel richer than ever

Republicans didn't start trickl... (and Clinton didn't spearhead NAFTA - dip sh*t above) (See Republican Controlled Congress & Senate vs Sitting Duck President)
TDE started during the Kennedy Admin. It worked then b/c our boarders were static, jobs were local. Unfortunately in theory it might work, but in reality it doesn't .The idea that a company would reinvest here is ludacris. They will put thier money in Bangalor India where they can have 5 Indians to 1 American for thier dollar.

Whatever you want to label it, it does work. Libs need to take a lesson from real life and stop planting their heads in textbooks and silly theories. Do you think traders in trading rooms around the world give a crap about economic formulas and ridiculous theories? No. They care about reality and emotion which drives the markets. Traders know what works, and they prefer Republicans in control of economic and tax policy over ditzy Dems.
Regarding manufacturing jobs, welcome to the global economy.

If you are so against trickle down economics - go get a job working for a poor guy and see how much better you do.
I can't believe how short sighted that idea is.

I remember that having something to do with NAFTA, something Clinton spearheaded, that does about as much for free trade as the patriot act does for civil rights.

Trickle down economics is like 9000 for me and 1 for you. 9000 for me and one for you. 9000 for me and 1 for you. 9000 for me and one for you. "Put your hands above your head and give me all your stinking money!"
