Rota is a town of approximately 27,000 people in the Andalusia region of Spain, located in Cadiz province, across the Bay of Cadiz from the city of the same name.

Rota is a small town on the andalusian coast of Cadiz province..
It is across the bay froim the city of Cadiz, a half hours drive south of Jerez de la Frontera and next to El Puerto de Santa María (towns where most of the Bodegas (wineries) of sherry wine are located).
The town is mostly known for its beautiful beaches, especially in the area called Costa Ballena.
And for the american military air/ naval base which has its main entrance in the town itself.
Rota is on the Atlantic coast, the water is colder than in the Mediterranean...

Rota is in the south of Spain. There is a US Naval Base there.
