If warts have a good side, it's that they go away on their own!
Warts are a viral infection caused by 70 different strains of
" human papillomavirus " and they are not dangerous at all only meddlesome and irritating.
The wart virus is passed from person to person by direct contact. It usually enters the skin through a cut, or scratch & then it incubates for about 2-6 months before you notice it as a lump. If you touch the lump or try scratching it and then touch broken skin elsewhere on your body, you can transfer the wart. That's how you get multiple warts. So hands off your warts.
In a pinch you can make your own wart remover by crushing an asperin tablet and mixing the powder with a little water. Apply the paste directly on the wart & cover with a bandage for a day or so.
With persistent warts doctors use a variety of ways to remove the wart, but there's still a chance that the wart will return.

What Enfin says is mostly true, however warts can be extremely dangerous as certain strains of the virus can cause cancer.

It's some of the genital warts that can do this so it's very advisable to see a doctor and get treated A.S.A.P. after you spotted a wart.

Warts spread very easily from person to person. Some require the skin to be slightly damaged to enter, but mostly they don't. The info that warts are one of the most common diseases in America and Europe is a sign enough that they transmit readily.

Depending on the state of your immune system, the warts can be transmitted from a single contact or after repeated exposure (months).

They can persist up to a few years, but usually resolve spontaneously within a year. This also depends on your immune system and genetics as well as on the strain of the Papillomavirus you were infected by.

Warts are a fungus. MSM and H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) are oxygenators. Fungus doesn't do well with lots of oxygen. MSM is made from DMSO, which I once (a year ago) put on a wart. After a few days the wart crumbled & fell off when I felt it, leaving new pink skin behind. No wart grew back. (A friend had had the same results with a wart she'd had.) I suggest MSM instead of DMSO, as it is safer to use. You can dilute it in water, or buy it in a cream. (I dilute mine in water.)

this depends totally on what kind of warts they are. where are they located on the body? if the warts are on the genitals, you need to be seen by a physician. females can't always see if they have the warts because they may be inside the vagina, these particular type of warts are associated with cervical cancer in women. if the warts are on the hands, fingers etc.. you can buy a remedy at your local drugstore.
