One thing that really makes a speech "flow" is if it is clear when you move from one point to another. First, outline your main points at the beginning of speech. Then, give each point in the same order that you outlined them. At the end of the speech, review each of the main points in the same order. Make sure to use many transition words and phrases, so the audience will know when you are moving to another part of the speech. For example, you can use words like first, second, finally, as a result, in conclusion, and so forth. It's very important to have transitional words and phrases in speeches because the audience depends on them to help them understand the structure of the speech.

If you are allowed, having some sort of visual reinforcement for the information (such as a PowerPoint presentation, poster, handout, or writing on the chalkboard or overhead) is also helpful for the audience because it allows the audience to get the same information in a different way.

Make and outline
You need a theme. Your theme is not merely a broad subject such as might be represented by a single word. It is the central idea that you want to convey, and it indicates the angle from which you plan to discuss your subject. If a theme is assigned, analyze each main word carefully. If you are to develop the assigned theme on the basis of published material, study that material with the theme in mind. If you are assigned only a subject, then it will be up to you to choose the theme. Before doing so, however, you may find it helpful to do some research. By keeping your mind open, you will often get fresh ideas.

Ease up on the vocabulary. A lot of people tend to write essays rather than speeches and use bigger words than what naturally comes out of their mouths. Your speech will flow more easily if you are familiar with your own words, and you'll be doing the audience's ears a favor as well.

Oh, and practice, practice, practice.

Either you have the gift or not.
You can take orator classes, and those will help, but if you don't have the talent, find someone to help you write the speech, and then PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE the delivery of the speech.
