When I have to pull an all night paper-writing session, I always have eyedrops handy. And, even though it might not be the best for accuracy reasons, I only look at the screen after I finish a sentence; I'll proofread later. Then you can keep your eyes happy. If you wear contacts, definately take them out and wear your glasses. Other than that, good luck!

Get some eye drops and take mini-breaks to focus your eyes on something in greater and lesser depth than the screen. My eye doctor would tell me to take a pen and put it out about a foot in front of my eyes then follow the pen inward to touch your forehead. This is to help your eyes refocus. Make sure your environment is condusive for your creative mind to flow---good lighting and little distractions. I once had a teacher that liked the silence of early morning work....Good luck!

I would suggest you a Homoeopethic drops called "CINERARIA MARITIMA". These drops are magical drops. In first three or four times, you will shout with irk in your eyes. BUT it is normal. After some uses you will feel easy with this medicine.
I am telling you buddy, I have been working on Computer for the last 13 years and this medicine is my best companion.

1) Close your eyes every 15 min for a min - this gives the eyes rest
2) Roll your eyes every half hour
3) Also look at some far place and some near place in quick succession - this gives the eyes exercise
4) buy artificial tear-drops so that your eyes don't get dry and itchy
