that in less than 6 months you will all hate each other and by the time the lease is ready to be renewed two of you will have left the others to have to pay full rent and once a year to two is up you will never talk to each other again.

Hi--I've been an apartment manager for over 3 years, and I've seen several friendships break up over issues dealing with living together. The biggest one is paying the rent on time, and dividing up the utilities. Even if you are close friends, really sit down and discuss money issues, and private space issues, as well as having visitors over.....how often and over-nighters..?? Soon, it may feel like an overnight visitor is becoming a full time resident, and animosity can occur if the ground rules are not being honored. Discuss who buys the food...everyone for themself, or all the groceries for everybody, and how much are your visitors welcome to? What the 4 of you may be able to afford for a week's worth of groceries can really go fast when you have your visitors constantly munching on it all. My advice...have your visitors bring a 2 liter & a bag of pretzels or a munchy to share, along with what you offer, and everything stretches farther. These are some of the things that my former residents have told to me. Guys fall prey to these broken friendships just as much as the girls. These were all people who thought they were best friends and knew everything about each other. Overall, the biggest complaint was the money, followed by the intrusion of too many overnighters.
