Not with sprint I know it doesn't. I have it on my phone so I can see when my hubby gets online to talk to me even when I am not home (he is in Iraq) Yahoo messenger is an application and once on that application, messages sent are part of the application and are included in the fee you pay per month for it.

Not with Verizon either. I got yahoo and msn and use it all the time. No text charges although there may be some minute usage but I have enough to cover it without going over so I dunno if there is minute usage or not. NO text message charges for sure on verizon. AND on verizon Yahoo and MSN are absolutely free.
