i have a normal cold but i'm concerned about my itchy throat, ears and inside my chest. when i cough it feels like i'm scratching my heart area(internal) and the insides of my ears have been itchy for a week and a little sore. i feel absolutely fine apart from this. no fatigue or fever or anything else.

I know how you feel. One thing that tends to help me out is some hot water with lemon and honey with just a bit of milk. It wont cure it but it will help a little. Hang in there, it may take a couple of days for it to go away. :)

Feel better!

For the "itchy" throat you may try to gargle a couple of Alka-Seltzer's. Normally the itch is just on one side of the throat. Normally when I got an itchy throat I knew that a cold was too follow. When you cough do your lungs seem to have congestion?. If so you may need an antibiotic. This appears to be a bacteria infection instead of a virus. However; what do I know as I am not a Doctor. I have had that type itch before and it made me want to "gag". Good luck. Rody

Seasonal allergies and sinus troubles can cause the same symptoms as a cold. The itching in the throat, ears, and burning in the chest are common for these also. Try some benadryl or an antihistimine. A good, hot cup of tea or bouillon works well too.

I agree that it sounds like allergies.

There are some over-the-counter remedies that can help but the best course is to talk to your doctor about it. There are some prescription medications that can relieve the worst of the symptoms.
