1. Women's suffrage which led to the voting rights for women. 2. WWII and post WWII, where women entered the workplace and rightly began demanding equal pay for equal work.
3. Sexual "liberation" movements which began around 1965 and the burning of the bra era which was perhaps symbolic of a woman's right to do with body as she saw fit epecially in terms of reproductive rights and the "pro-choice" stance.
3. Also in that regard would be the "Roe v. Wade" decision that made abortion an option for women.
