That's about the only relation. Astrologers rarely even observe planets, and astronomers observe and study stars and planets. Astrology only deals with the starts that are in the Zodiac, which is a narrow belt around the earth where the sun, and planets pass through. Astrology is an occult practice, Astronomy is a science. No resemblance whatsoever.

At this time, the Christian church saw such things as magic, except for study of the stars in order to understand God and the prophecies, like Christ's birth. So, Christians felt astrology was a form of idolatry. Still, astrology was sometimes used by Christians and became a part of the culture in a superstitious or folkloric way. Later after the scientificmethod began to be used and the telescope was invented, astronomy became the scientific study of the stars. Many of the names now used in astronomy come from Greek astrology, although astrology is now for entertainment purposes only.
