I'm a mechanical design engineer. I need to make sure that the products I design perform the way I intended. I use calculus for everything from calculating lengths, trigonometry, strength of materials, cost etc etc.

Every mammal, bird, reptile and fish use calculus in everyday life, without realizing its being employed.


Crossing a busy street is an example of work where calculus is used.

Roadkill is a result of confusing the dependent variable with the independent variable, resulting in the nulifying of the function.

Humans who use it: serious stock market analyst use it to track and predicts the fluxation in the market, design engineers in the various discliplines of electronics/electricity, pnuematics, hydrolics, optics, power, sound/accoustics, celistial mechanics, structural, aerospace, chemical (stociochemistry), physicist, mechanics, etc.

I am a telecommunications engineer. In some 30 or so years I have never used calculus on the job.
If, however, I want to be able to read and understand scientific and engineering papers and books, then I need to know and understand calculus.

Not at all . The main purpose of calculus is only to derive scientific formula and once the furmula is derive it can then be used in every day human task.

yes all the time, im am a student in schoo taking calculus and i do homework everday for that class, if you mean real world... i always tell my teacher how is calculus gonna help me in life?
