OK this questions pretty gross but here it goes...

My girlfriend has had her period for ages and just the other day she said she had a glob of...something... turn up in her pad. She thinks she had a miscarraige but I don't think so I think it's more likely it was lining from her uterus wall or somethng... can anyone shed some light on what it could be? :S thanks :)

Probably...That's what a period is, the shedding of the thickened lining of the uterus. If it had been a miscarriage, there would ave been severe cramping, abnormal bleeding, and sometimes nausea and fever. If she had these symptoms, too, she needs to get her butt to an OB/GYN for a DNC. If any fragments remain of the fetus, she can get an infection.

Most women actually DO have miscarriages at least once in their lifetime, but they usually just think it was a "heavier than normal" period. Some early miscarriages are just that, a really heavy period with clots and some pretty bad cramping. Sometimes there are no other symptoms. I should know; I've had 4 of them.

If she thinks she experienced a miscarriage, then you need to believe her and support her and let her grieve, even if it turns out that it wasn't. It's just another way you can show love to her.

It was probably the lining of her uterus or some clotting. I clot quite heavily during my period and have for years. She should go see her doctor to be sure everything is OK especially if this is the first time anything like this has ever emerged during her period. Good luck.

I've had a similar experience and due to complications I found out later on that it was a miscarriage. I do think she should go see a doctor for peace of mind if nothing else. as her boyfriend you should be supportive she needs all the care she can get.

if its like a big blood clot, this is normal. i used to get these all the time when i was a teenager. once i went on the pill and my periods lightened i no longer got them. i doubt its a miscarriage, i would imagine that's worse, but i am not sure how those work as i never had that

It could have just been the egg, because the egg commonly comes out in a clot type thing. It's gross, but that could be what it was. If she is not sure though, she should go get looked at.

It sounds like a big blood clot. She really shouldn't be having them. If they continue and are particularly large she should get checked out by a doctor.

sometimes there can be a clear glob, like slime in a way that happens in girls.she actually may need to get a scraping done if she has had her period for so long.
