i think its lovely that you would want to do that for someone, bless you!!
they might say this because being pregnant can be a very emotional experience, so they might want you to know what you are getting into. the process isn't just about the couple who want the child but also the women that wants to be the surrogate and her well being!
but i am sure that there is agencies that offer kind of counselling sessions to make sure the surrogate will be able to deal with her feelings while pregnant and after.
i really hope you get to do this truly beautiful thing! good luck and keep looking!

the requirement of already giving birth means that you are aware and can handle the emotional trauma of surrendering the life that you incubate for 9 months. Trust me bearing a child and giving it away can be devastating if not properly prepared. It is not a way to make $$ nor is it something to be entered into lightly.
Consider the WHY behind why you want to be surrogate.
I am not judging you but be sure VERY VERY sure you can handle it. the legal and emotional problems that can result from a surrogate changing her mind or the bio-parents changing their mind due to divorce/separation during the pregnancy are huge!!

I can see their reasons for it. If you have already been pregnant you have experienced all the feelings that go with it. You know what pain is involved, you know whether if you are pregnant if you would be willing to carry a baby and not want to keep it for your own.

I don't think you will find a program that will.

I asked the same question and was told it was more of an emotional issue than physical. I wanted to experience it, but did not think I wanted to mother yet and wanted to help someonelse who could'nt have a child.
