eat is to ate as
run is to _?_

this is a stupid example but the point is the connection between the first two items-eat and ate-is that the second (ate) is the past tense of the first (eat). Using this connection between the two you should be able to infer what goes in the blank-in this case ran which is the past tense of run.

A little confusing I guess but here's another one...

sun is to daytime as
moon is to _?_

answer: nightime
