What a crock! Sounds like he's hiding something from you.

Having another person on the pc doesn't add any "upkeep". He has to do the same scans and maintenance no matter how many people use the thing.

If it was me, I would go behind him when he's out to see what he's got on there that he doesn't want me to see. But I'm sneaky like that :-)

I have this same problem only I just about have an anxiety attack when my husband uses the computer what I can offer to try to help you understand where hes coming from is that when some one else uses the computer when you are the primary user often the slightest change will totally stress that person out and make them feel like all the work they have done for weeks is been undone

Computers are a privet thing. I would never share a PC. Plus in to days world unless your into editing video or hardcore gaming you can get a PC for $1000 that is very good and that's if your still a medium gamer. If your just web browsing looking at video and pictures and playing DVD movies and stuff along that line then $600 can get yourself a great PC.

I hope you know Michael D is just jokeing around don't be scared into days world we all use are own PC.

Strange to me...I am a Husband and I don't mind my wife being on it..As up keep, what less than maybe 5 minutes a week or month is it..Some men talk to other women or hide porn on the computer or his afraid you might meet another man on it..
Taking 5 minutes of his time is not alot...
Call him on it and tell if he won't share you'll get a computer for your self...see what he say's

Id say not a good sign!
as far as up keep, the only thing he could be talking about is a simple fix, dumpin temporary internet files and cookies files
but sounds to me like he doesnt want you seeing something he shouldnt be doin/seein
just because my first and EX hubby did the same thing to me! but he has to leave the house sometime hunny! and when he did,boy did he NOT get back in when I was done!
if I were you Id kick his upkeep lie in the tailend and get a computer book(if you dont know how to dump the junk) and tell him you can upkeep yourself! and demand your computer time too!if he still says no,tell him you do or he leaves!!
easier said than done for sure, but think to yourself what is hidden?? good luck

Share and share alike. Marriage is to be able to share openly and respect the individual for being able to act in a positive manner. Sounds like hubby wants all the time for himself. You need to give each other a time allotment and both have access.

Marriage is about unity, caring and joint appreciation.

Then buy one for yourself. In truth, I tend to agree with him. It is much more difficult to maintain a computer when there are multiple users. With separate computers, one only has to truly worry about his/her own mess.

Further, a computer soon becomes a very personal thing (which is why they call them personal computers), with the individual's own preferences, files, writings, thoughts, and so forth. An intrusion into that is as uncomfortable as someone going through your purse or bedroom dresser drawers, for examples.

When you get a computer of your own (and you should), you will soon understand all this.

I agree..purchase your own. Let's face it, back when TV first came out, most households that had one, well, they just had one. Now we have one in every room and one to five in our cars. Having more than one computer is not unheard of. Doesn't sound like much of a husband, or even a man in my book.

a) Go purchase your own.
b) Take his keyboard and tell him you don't want the upkeep of having to dust off his fingerprints all the time.
c) Plug the monitor in the kitchen and tell him you want to be able to monitor what he is doing on the computer.
Make it fun, keep it light.
