first thing to do is ask the linesman, if he did not see what happened, play on
2/ if he seen a trip its a penalty
3/if he seen a dive, yellow card to the attacker, i wish they could change it to a red and penalty kick in the opposite goal that would stop the diving, but you would have to introduce video ref to make sure you get the right decision

Ask the linesmen and if the linesmen disagree. Make it no penalty. Better to err on the side of no penalty than to award something like Giggs' dive versus Celtic last week.

if you, the ref, didn't see it, then you would never know if the player did or didn't dive, and you'd just move on with the game.

i'll go ask the flag refs or the linemen, usually they'll help. if they dont, i'll decide based on what i thought i saw. if its a mistake, well human does make mistake

there's more than one ref they cant only look at you. if it's recorded take a look at the film and you'll know.

if the referree didnt see it, he cant do anythin, but if the fourth official saw it, he can tell the ref.....i think....
