I'm a combat veteran that has been to the middle east in the late 80's, Iraq's better now than when Saddam Hussein and his sons were torturing people for fun, poisoning Kurdish children and whole communities with anthrax, chopping off head, dropping people feet first into wood chippers and throwing people off of buildings. Saddam has killed more Muslims than anyone else in history during the Iran Iraq war including 300,000 child soldiers.

Today, they have their own democracy, electric power, oil production, jobs, banks, stock market. Women have more rights than they have ever had before. We have reopened irrigation canals to provide 100,000 new jobs in farming. All the schools have been reopened and teaching democracy, not propaganda.

Rather than bitching and complaining, why don't you get off your computer and join the military and see for yourself. Did you know that more people are murdered in Mexico everyday than in Iraq? Or that Iraq is safer than many other countries around the world?

Probably not a lot different, although the mass executions seem to have ended. Now the less organized insurgents only kill a couple hundred innocent people a day.

Problem is that there are a lot more people in Iraq that are just as vile as Saddam and his sons. and they won't quit fighting until they come to realize that it doesn't pay to act the way they do. This may happen as a result of continued efforts by the free world, but probably it will take a civil war to sufficiently reduce the number of bad guys, and to make them realize that when their numbers are reduced enough, another rogue nation will invade them.

Only Saddam Hussein can control Iraq.

Better without Saddam, worse with the religious fanatics... On the bright side, the religious fanatics are fighting a losing battle with attrition.

Sadam knew how to control muslims. He knew it is by power and control. Not by allowing them to riot. He locked his borders and would have anyone killed that attempted anything like what is going on now. Maybe there was needs for all the killing and mass graves we found.

I do feel even if he was such a bad man he was a good ruller for the kind of people he had to rule over.

it's been bad with or without him. But him being the president promoted less amount of deaths amongst the peopl of his nation.
After Bush took him to jail, american soldiers took over and are killing a numorous amount of people every hour.
(This is with all respect to the citizens of America who aren't involved in the ugliness of the war)
