Can I get a job in New York working as a nurse assistant if I have a misdemenor from about 6 years ago? Clean record before and after this one.

new york doesn't worry about misdemeanor's....they worry about felonies mostly and plus it was 6 years ago and you haven't gotten in trouble so you have nothing to worry about it don't sweat it...Ive seen drug users and people who have felonies work as a nursing assistant.

Have the misdemenor expunged from your record as quickly as you can before applying. Talk with a qualified attorney about what's involved in it. Your initial consultation should be free. If not, find another attorney.

I believe the only thing they will look for is if the applicant has had a felon. Otherwise I think you are in the clear. If any more questions, contact a lawyer to ask them if your ok. Good luck!!!
