I believe in helping someone in need , but only if they are really trying to do all they can for themselves and not living off the kindness of others

I think that you should work for them. I do believe that working hard for whatever you want puts a value on you of what you have earned. I worked all my life and never regretted raising a family with the money I earned. I went back to college at 48 years old and that was a challenge for me with kids 16, 17, 18 years old. We were in nursing and a few of the students adopted me and we studied together and age was never a factor after we got to know each other...It was a good couple of years....

Evey1 should have to work 4 what they want. If things are handed 2 people, they don't have a sence of appritiationfor the things that they have.

Nakita,
I believe in working for things,
but there are many circumstances
which do not allow for the perfect
scenario and handing things
is quite OK. I believe in helping
and if handing something out
will help, I'll do it.
That's just me - I've seen too
much suffering and poverty,
so I try not to judge, rather
to go by my gut feelings.
Sometimes I miss, but I've
found most times it has paid off.

this is the problem with a lot of the youth of America. their parents strive to give their children a better life than they had and end up spoiling the hell out of them. I'm shocked at the amount of people that don't know what it's like to work for something. my parents made sure that i was given what i needed.. always what i needed, i had to work for what i wanted.

Agreed.
Though that depends. There's a select few that are born into wealth out of the hard labor of their parents/ grandparents/ ancestors, etc.
While the rest of us need to work for it. However, if they're truly deserving they earn it so I guess you could hand it to them but ONLY by their own merit.

i agree, they need to work for it. When i was younger my dad wasn't around a whole lot, so he thought when he finally came back into my life, he would hand everything to me he thought I wanted. It always felt really awkward, and i always told him "no dad that's not right, or I don't really need that"....but now that he is gone, i cherish everything he ever gave me, especially my trailer house! It was a supposed wedding gift.....I don't think I'm ever gonna move out!
