I'm 21 years old and fairly mature but my fiance and I have been having alot of unprotected sex for the past month or so. Well for about two weeks I've been extremely tired all the time, my nipples were very sore for about a week but it went away, I felt nauseaous for about two weeks and I've just been an emotional mess lately. I took a pregnancy test a week ago that came back negative, but I think it may have been too early to get a positive result. If I have a period, it should come in about a week or two. Should I go ahead and buy another pregnancy test or should I wait a little longer? Also, if I go to the health department and ask for a blood test instead, how long will it take to get the results??? Thanks for any advice you guys can offer me...

For a pregnancy test, you usually need to wait until the day after a missed period. Earlier than that it will be too soon for the amount of hormones to be present in the urine. Usually when you go to the doctor, they will do a urine test and you get the results immediately.
Try not to stress about it too much as that can contribute to the feelings you've been having as well.

Even if you get a blood test at the dr you need to wait until your period is due. Stress could be causing your symptoms. Just relax and the blood test results take around an hour. Make sure you get a QUANTITIVE result not a QUALITIVE. you need your actual count not a yes or no as you might not be as far along as you think. less than 5 is not preggo.

You can really drive yourself crazy thinking you may or may not be pregnant. The best thing to do is to get a test, keep an eye on you symptoms, and most importantly see a doctor. We have a 4 month old now and all of your symptoms sound very familiar in the early stages of my wife's pregnancy. The bad thing is that there is so much information on the internet that you really can drive yourself crazy with all the am I or not questions. Wait for the day that your period is supposed to be due and then there should be plenty of hormones to show up a positive test or not. If you are still concerned the best way is to see a doctor. You do have all the signs so you just might be.

i got pregnant with my husband the 1st time we had unprotected sex. im now a mother of 3. sometimes your thoughts can change your body. stress can mess up your period so you may not wanna base this on your period. just go take a test in about a week and no matter the outcome go to the clinic and get tested again and they can also answer your questions. good luck to you.

Just be patient and wait till the first day of your expected period. I got pregnant last year and I took the test too early and it came back negative; a week later it was postive. On a side note, you realize what assholes men are when you get preg.

It sounds cliche... but I think it might be in your head. Maybe you are... but I've had a "scare" before because I freaked myself out to the point where I missed my period! Relax... if in a few weeks things still aren't working... buy another test!

wait to see if you've missed your period first. once you are about 4 days late then a pregnancy test should work just fine !!

wait until it is time for your period and if it doesnt come, then take a test, if it is negative then go to the clinic and ask for a blood test.

listen all pregnancy test don't work. The blood test will keep you on your toes. Just go to your doctor and talk to him or her about it. You should be comfortable with your doctor and your 21 it can be kept confidential. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ASAP!!!
