So okay.... I have always wondered about just what those women who live in REMOTE areas, countries, rain forests, Zimbabwae,Congo, etc.do when they have their periods ? also, what about after having babies. Do they just let it dribble all over or what ??? EWWWWW Also, what if they "smell"...have "infections" ...excess "dairy production" down there? Seriously....just what DO they do ????

nothing. people over there, more than likely, dont care. it might seem weird to us, since hygeine is a staple in our cultrue, but over there they focus on surviving mroe than hygeine. those "infections" your talking about, people die from that stuff. Why do you think AIDS is such an epidemic over there? becasue people dont know or dont care. its not a big deal to them as long as they live to see tomorrow. just to put it into perspective for you.

For their periods they use cotton or other such soft, fluffy and absorbent plant material. After giving birth the 'midwife' (for lack of a better word) collects everything and wraps it up and buries it somewhere. Men have nothing to do with either process usually. When a woman is having her period she usually leaves the 'camp' and goes to wherever the 'unclean' go until they are done. As for infections and stuff like that... do some research and find out!!!

Ive always wondered the same very question actually! Good one!! Hmm id say they'd use leafs and other things from nature since they dont quite have our level of technology or any technology at all rather.
Infections they prolly just pray about and smell they dont care cuz its not a big concern to them.
Obviously when they have babies its the same as us another words it DOES come out of the same place, BUT they just dont have the same hospitals and "rituals" as do we. If there baby sick when its born tough luck.

I'm sure they have natural remedies for sickness/infections. As for their periods they probably use cloth as a pad type of thing. They do the same things that women in earlier centuries did, before modern medicine came up with everything we have today.

I dont even like to think about it. Im so glad I was born in a day and age where we have tampons! As far as the sickness, do animals sense that? hmmm, scary thought.

I've heard that there is a certain exotic plant that can be used as a tampon... there are a bunch of natural remedies for stuff... I've even heard of tribes in Africa brushing their teeth with sticks from certain plants... it's pretty crazy :]
