Yes, most definitely. Who is to say Apple wasn't the top selling computer because microsoft never made the PC.

Oh heck yea! Everyone makes a big impact on this world, but few shape an entire generation of computers (And people) make billions and then use that power for charity. Say what you want about Bill and maybe someone else would have taken his place, but his company through his direction took computers from the hands of geeks with hard to understand terminal screens and ugly GUI's and put them in the hands millions and millions of people with systems that most could use.

I don't have an answer, but for myself, Bill Gates is the person that I admire the most, not only his impact in the world but the way he lives his life. Earning money and giving it away.
Look at the way he dresses, so simple, so natural. People pretending to be rich are
always showing off. What a difference

You wont know what you dont know.
If someone hadnt invented the computer then Bill Gates would not have the ingenuity to introduce his Windows.Of course, Bill Gates has been a major influence in the IT world, no doubt about that. Whatever, I believe GOD has designed and planned to be that way, Gates or no Gates.

Well, we might all be using Apple products! I'm sure we'd still be in the same type of technological era, but perhaps just different hardware/software setups.

No, because somebody would have created another program like Windows. It's a free market and competition is always going to be there.
