You probably would be the same size since the 38 would be a chest size, but you would have to try them on to know. You may need a 40 for extra room over the shirt and plenty of movement.

It SHOULD be but go to a men's store and try on some size 38 jackets --some might be tight and, especially, the sleeve length could be way off!

your going to want to 1 go to a suit shop and 2 wear a jacket the next size up so you have room.. With this a suit store is the best place to find out.

you will want to try a 40 regular that way you have some room to move and breath.
